I started taking wine seriously in January of 2010 as part of my “Culinary” New Year challenges. As with most new things I try I jumped in head first  – reading a lot, watching “video blogs”, etc. I joined a local “Wine Club” for monthly tastings and found a friend with whom I can explore Pinot Noir.

Over the last 5 months I kept every cork I popped from a wine bottle in a glass vase. By the cork count I see I enjoyed a lot of Sauvignon Blanc – perhaps enough to pick out a daily Sauvignon Blanc from my “under $10” list.

To be honest, I want to dive into a red varietal to break up the white monotony. I’ve tried other whites but I just can’t seem to get into them. So I’ll start doing an “under $10” red for the week, keep my “over $10, under $20” Sauvignon Blanc going and pick up more than a few of my favorite “under $10” Sauvignon Blanc favorites just to have “on hand”.

Sounds like a plan!
